"I am doing the first term of an IT program in BCIT. It's so intensive and overwhelming in the very beginning days, but everything goes better and better.

It proves that choosing IGSPP before taking an academic program in Canada is such a right decision!"
IGSPP graduate Jianming (Jimmy) LIANG - September 2010

Comments from a recent graduating class of IGSPP:

  • During IGSPP, I not only experienced Western culture and the academic atmosphere but I also felt that I could immerse myself into the culture and academic atmosphere to enjoy everything I experienced.
  • IGSPP is a platform in which we can exploit our creativity, imagination and abilities to consolidate our academic foundation for the future. Actually IGSPP went beyond our expectations.
  • Although the work is tough, the acquisition is huge. I learnt a lot from IGSPP, (about) grad school, and grad school skills.

Congratulations to all of the IGSPP graduates of December 2009. Special recognition was awarded to:

Award for Mark

Xiaodong (Mark) TONG for Overall Achievement

Award for Jimmy

"I benefit much from this program, especially from the academic mentorship section. From the mentor's professional perspective, I could realize my advantages and disadvantages when applying to an academic program; also I could understand a field more than I thought before I made a further decision. Besides, I benefit from the intercommunication with other candidates, instructors and alumni of the program. The connection from these nice people did provide me much useful information I need at present or in future. I am sure I will not forget this period of time in IGSPP."
Jianming (Jimmy) LIANG for Commitment to Learning

Award for Keira

"The best thing IGSPP have done is telling you how to solve problems instead of solving the problems for you. They help you think rather than remember."
Xiao (Keira) YANG for Dynamic Thinker.

IGSPP is not only an excellent academic mentor to you, but also an outstanding life assistant, working hard in the pre-training program and taking easy in your future study, or taking on the double-sided pressures of adapting to a new system and studying a new program, it's all you choice!

"This is the third week of (my Master's Program in Education at Simon Fraser University) and I found it a little bit challenging, but enjoyable... Much reading, writing and more participation in class, because it is seminar, very much work to do before every meeting. I found many rules and skills I learned in IGSPP are so useful"

"I have started my new class [at] Simon Fraser University...Owing to what I learnt from IGSPP...I felt much better in the new academic environment. The time management [skills],...critical thinking,...how to evaluate articles,...communication skills and pragmatics...are really important for my classes and daily life in university. I feel confidence when discussing in a group and share my opinions. I really appreciate what I learnt and got from IGSPP.
