International Graduate Study Preparation Program

"...what I have learned in the program helped me a lot during my applying process and even after I started my grad study. I am deeply grateful that I had joined the program, which helped me a lot to adapt the distinct academic study style here."
-- FANG Neng (Nancy) - IGSPP graduate and graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of British Columbia

Looking for a Pre-Masters Program?

Higher education at the graduate level (Masters Degrees) in a top North American university is considered by many international students to be a necessity for achieving their academic and career goals.

The skills required for admission to these advanced degree programs, however, are very difficult to obtain for those unfamiliar with North American academic culture. Despite years of preparation in study and work in their home environments, many promising, potential graduate students are unsure of how and where to apply to international graduate schools. Many have their applications rejected even though they meet the minimum admission requirements in their discipline. In the competition for graduate school admission, they lacked specific skills needed for successful selection.

The International Graduate Study Preparation Program (IGSPP) has been developed by University of British Columbia, Continuing Studies. This graduate school training helps to prepare international students in the advanced academic skills needed to gain admission to their ideal graduate school.

ACADEMIC TESTIMONIAL

"...global citizenship means caring about the impact that our choices have on others, locally and across boundaries of nation, race, religion, etc. It means learning about other cultures and ways of thinking, mastering new languages. It means preparing oneself to make a difference in the world."
Professor Stephen Toope
UBC President
