Announcement: ICAP has now completed its student recruitment through to Fall 2011. However, UBC Continuing Studies has recently added a new program to support undergraduate-level preparation. The new program is named IUSPP, the International Undergraduate Study Preparation Program. The entrance requirements are a bit higher than for ICAP, but it also includes elements of credit study at UBC. Please follow the IUSPP link to find out more.

Awards

UBC Continuing Studies has developed the Intercultural Communication Advancement Program (ICAP) to help international students prepare for undergraduate work at the highest level in North America.

The focus of ICAP is not for students to simply gain admission to undergraduate study, but for better overall performance once admitted. In fact, to encourage students to work hard, remain focused and develop their skills, we offer the Academic Performance Agreement.

Academic Performance Agreement
Starting in 2010, ICAP graduates, who fulfill all of the Academic Performance Agreement conditions listed below, will be provided a full refund of program tuition and fees by UBC Continuing Studies, if he/she does not receive an offer of undergraduate admission to the University of British Columbia (Vancouver or Okanagan Campus) within 24 months of graduation from ICAP.

Eligibility
Eligibility will be at the discretion of UBC Continuing Studies and based on a review of each student’s academic details (school ranking, courses taken, grades, awards, etc.) from the students ICAP application. Not every student accepted into ICAP will be eligible for the Academic Performance Agreement. UBC Continuing Studies will notify eligible students at the beginning of the program.

Conditions
1) Students require a minimum entrance grade average (GPA) of 85% or higher from a rigorous academic program to be eligible.

2) Students must complete ICAP and graduate with an 85% GPA or higher.

3) Students must maintain 85% attendance or higher during ICAP.

4) Students must submit a complete undergraduate admission application to UBC (Vancouver and Okanagan Campus).

5) Students must satisfy the University’s English language requirement when applying for undergraduate admission to UBC (Vancouver and Okanagan Campus).

6) Students must provide UBC Continuing Studies with verification of their admission rejection from UBC (a copy of official documentation) within 24 months of graduation from ICAP.

Academic Performance Agreement criteria are subject to change at the discretion of UBC Continuing Studies.
